Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Director of FP&A to lead financial planning, forecasting, and business performance analysis within a software or technology business. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of finance experience, including at least 3 years in FP&A within a software or technology company. This role requires a hands-on finance professional who can build financial forecasting models from scratch, analyze recurring and services revenue, and provide clear, data-driven insights to executive leadership. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO and US-based leadership team, independently perform financial analysis, and challenge business assumptions when financial results do not support a proposed decision.

Responsibilities

  • Build financial forecasting models from scratch to support business planning and strategic decisions.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Analyze recurring revenue, subscription revenue, and professional services revenue.
  • Review financial performance, identify variances, and explain the reasons behind financial results.
  • Prepare financial reports and actionable insights for the CEO and senior leadership.
  • Support reporting requirements for the US-based parent company.
  • Independently conduct financial analysis in a lean organizational environment.
  • Identify financial risks, business trends, and opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Communicate financial findings clearly and challenge assumptions when the data does not support a proposed decision.
  • Collaborate with US-based leadership across the required time-zone difference.

Required qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Finance, including at least 3 years in FP&A within a software or technology company.
  • CA, MBA in Finance, CFA, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience building financial forecast models from scratch.
  • Strong understanding of recurring revenue and professional services revenue.
  • Experience working with or within a US-based parent company and understanding its financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience independently performing financial analysis in a lean organization.
  • Excellent written communication and financial presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to challenge business assumptions using financial data.
  • Ability to work closely with executive leadership and collaborate across US time zones.
